17th March 2006 :- Ring Sights™ RC12-NLAW Gets Royal Approval

A rocket launcher is not something you would normally associate with Royality, but yesterday prince Andrew had one posied at his shoulder as he learned of a £10 million deal won by Thale Air Defence Ltd.

23rd March 2005:- RC12-NLAW Contract Signed

Ring Sights Defence Group recently won the contract from SAAB Bofors Dynamics  to provide a secondary sight for the new NLAW ( already ordered by the British & Swedish MoDs) giving the end user the ability to use the weapon at night with NVG. The contract was signed on the 23 March 2005. Mr Ian Flack,  CEO, representing Ring Sights Defence Group is seen in the photos signing the contract alongside Mr Mats Fagerberg, Head of NLAW & ASM Programmes, representing Saab Bofors Dynamics, with Lars Lindgren, Purchasing Manager and Sten Sundberg from NLAW Technology & Development.

10th January 2005:- Presentation of Ring Sights™ Shield

RS Shield-Click to enlargeRing Sights Defence Group sponsor the Royal Air Force Air Gunnery Course. On the 10th of January 2005 our Project Manager, Fred Straughan gave a shield to the Air Gunnery course which will be presented annually to the best Air Gunner. The first of such awards went to Sgt Adie Phillips seen with the Stn Commander, Group Captain T S Milburn ADC and Mr Straughan.
Also give the firer greater confidence to use his weapon system. The sight also provided a true night capability, which when employing the laser illuminator is considerably enhanced to the degree where firers engage quicker and more accurately at night than during the day. The ability to engage low flying slow moving aircraft was greatly enhanced with the use of this sighting system.

21st December 2004:- New RC-12-NLAW Release

The NLAW shoulder launched missile system produced by SAAB-BOFORS has our new RC12-NLAW sight fitted and is specifically designed for the launcher system. Being NVG compatible this sight enables the end user to operate at night giving the operator all round capability.

21st November 2004:- New LC-42-85-NVG out on trial

The latest Ring Sight to market is the LC-42-85-NVG. Designed initially for the general purpose machine gun and evolved following trials with the end users. It is designed for easy surveillance and target acquisition for day or night engagement. Because of the solid glass optic it needs no maintenance and cannot mist up. The sight can be supplied with or without an IR laser pointer/illuminator. The added advantage of having a IR laser fitted is that it provides a rapid accurate aiming point when engaged in night operations

Ring Sights™ sponsor the British Ministry of Defence Abbey Wood Field Gun Team. The team represent Abbey Wood at the Royal Navy Field Gun day at HMS Collingwood each year. This event is well worth attending. It is extremely well organised as spectators and participants alike have a great day.

This sight is in use by the UK Helicopter force, and has been in use for a number of years and been used in all the recent conflicts to great success. Being NVG compatible it gives the operator a greater advantage. The sight can also be fitter with laser pointer illuminators and laser range finders to enhance the end users combat effectiveness. This sight as with all our others can be fitted with the graticule of your choice.
